Curly - A Polish Crested Rooster (aka) Polands or Paduans and known in England as the Poland, this is the most popular of the crested breeds. It is one of the oldest pure breeds, and dates back to the early sixteenth century. The Polish breed probably originated on the Continent, but nothing is truly known about its origins.
Larry - A Plymouth Rock Rooster (we think). This breed originated in the United States in the 19th century and is still popular to this day. They were developed in New England in the early 1800s by crossing Dominiques and Black Javas. It was bred as a dual-purpose fowl, meaning that it was valued both for its meat and the hens' egg laying ability. It is a cold-hardy bird.
